WOM2 - wombat

Common wombat, vombatus ursinas.

There are three extant species of wombat, the common and the northern- and southern-hairy nosed species. Of these the northern is now extremely rare and no-longer truly wild. It now numbers less than 100 and it has had it's last refuge fenced-in for protection. It faces a bleak future.
