Australian

Australian pelicans can weigh up to 13 kilogram, making them one of the world's heavier flying birds. However, with huge wings flight is anything but laboured and often they will make use of thermals to gain height before setting out on a long journey.

They can be seen in large groups at locations across Australia, often hundreds at a time, where coming together is used to aid feeding.
